Confessions with hidden names and clear privacy limits
Use /confess to open a private form with a 2,000-character limit. The bot publishes an embed titled Confession #N without your name, avatar or Discord ID. It does not save your ID or an author hash with the post. Discord keeps its own records, and people may still guess who wrote something; total anonymity is not promised.

Free includes one confession channel, an optional approval queue that starts on, a separate word list, link and invite filtering, rate limits, confession bans, reports and staff delete. Pro adds multiple destinations (up to 25) and optional public threads. Thread messages show your name. Anonymous replies and custom post styling are not included.
What you get
Staff review without author details
Queued confessions live in a private Discord staff channel, with no saved author link. Staff with Manage Messages approve or reject them. Authors are told that they will not receive the decision. Public numbering is assigned when a confession is published.
Safety controls on Free
The default limits are one accepted submission per member every ten minutes and 20 per hour per server, with no staff bypass. Both limits live only in memory and reset on restart. The minimum membership time defaults to 24 hours. Filters reject privately or queue; they never punish a member.
Clear data boundaries
Only confession bans store a member HMAC, separate from every post. Queue and report records contain Discord references and expire after 30 days. Reports contain a link and reason, without reporter identity or copied confession text. Discord messages remain until staff remove them.
Example commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/confess | Read the notice and open a private confession form. When multiple destinations are configured, choose one privately first. |
/confessions help | Read how submissions, review, public threads and the limits of anonymity work. |
/confessions ban member | Manage Server only: block a known selected member from submitting confessions. Staff cannot ban “the author of post #12”; use the queue, delete and filter. |
/confessions unban member | Manage Server only: allow a known selected member to submit again. The private audit names the member and moderator, never the HMAC. |

Frequently asked questions
Is the approval queue Free?
Yes. Safety controls, including optional approval, are included on Free. Review starts on, and the owner can switch to direct posting. Pro is needed only for multiple confession channels and the optional public thread per confession.
Does the bot know who wrote a confession?
The live Discord interaction contains the member’s ID, but the bot does not save it with any confession or send it to platform analytics for Confessions. Bans use a bot-specific HMAC stored only in the ban list. Whoever holds the secret can test a member list to discover who is banned, never who wrote a post. Discord keeps its own records and people may infer authorship.
What must the owner configure?
Make confession channels read-only for members and select a separate private staff channel for review, reports and ban audit messages, including direct posting. The bot needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in both. Missing access rejects privately without using the member’s limit. Public threads are off by default and need thread permissions. The owner can clear this server’s bans, queue, reports and counter with Delete Confessions data; Discord messages remain. Turning the module off keeps data.
